The upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone has been a favorite subject of numerous discussions all over the internet from quite some time now. Previous reports suggest that the device will be released in 2016 carrying impressive specs and features; however, contradicting reports followed saying that the release will be delayed. Alleged leak information has recently surfaced online showing some images of the Surface Phone.

Popular app developer from India Shubhan Chemburkar shared the images on his Twitter account. Apparently, Chemburkar took the photos when he had the chance to get inside Building 88 at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.

The first photo he posted has a 2017 marking and shows what appears to be a keyboard. Microsoft has yet to provide any statement with regard to the new speculations.

The upcoming smartphone is also expected to run on the new Windows 10 Redstone 2, in which Microsoft is going to launch before the year ends. It was previously reported that Microsoft may release a new handset with an Android OS in it; however, tech observers believe that the company is not yet ready to go to that direction.

Meanwhile, previous rumors suggest that the new Microsoft Surface Phone will carry the latest KabyLake processor from Intel, which will be paired with a whopping 8 GB of RAM. The device will be sold in multiple variants depending on the storage variations. There are speculations saying that the handset's onboard storage capacity will start at 32 GB; however, there are rumors suggesting that the top-of-the-line model may come out with 512 GB storage.

Not much has been reported about the Microsoft Surface Phone. There are fans who believe that the company might hold a big release early next year to launch the handset, along with the new iterations of Microsoft Surface Pro and Microsoft Surface Book.

For now, fans will have to wait for the company to officially announce the device.
