Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date July 2015, or as Late as October
The latest news on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 points to an October 2015 release date. That's also the time frame when Windows 10 is expected to be released. It is speculated that the Surface Pro 4 will be the first one to have Microsoft's latest OS pre-loaded.
There are conflicting reports that Surface Pro 4 could be launched as early as July this year. The reports said the device will have a 2K screen with 2,160x1,440 pixel resolution, an Intel Core-i5 and Core-i7 processor and a stylus pen like the Surface Pro 3.
Rumor has it that the Surface Pro 4 will be the first Windows 10 device that will utilize Intel's redesigned Skylake chips, including all of its supposed specs and features. Skylake is speculated to be released in August 2015. Reports are still consistent about the Surface Pro 4 being released in two different sizes – 12 and 14-inch models.
There are people who are convinced that the Surface Pro 4 could offer a 1 TB storage option and 16GB of RAM. It reportedly will start at 63 GB, growing to 128 GB, 256 BG and 500 GB. Another rumor has it that Surface Pro 4 will have LTE support, though not much detail is available. It also apparently will come with Xbox game streaming.
Microsoft's Surface tablets have already been lauded for their design, and it seems Microsoft will not deviate too much.
In his blog, General Manager for Microsoft Surface line Brian Hall cited the Surface Pro 3 accessories that will be compatible with the next generation of the "Pro" line of Surface. These include "infrastructure" accessories such as power adapter, and Ethernet Adapter. Hall also mentioned the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station.
"This commitment helps validate an investment in Surface Pro 3 and solidifies Microsoft's overall commitment to the continued growth of the Surface brand," he said.
