Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs and rumors: due to come out in spring 2017? Pro 4 now offered at low prices
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 remains to be one of the most anticipated and rumored devices of this time. Details about it are still scarce and even the device's release date is kept under wraps. However, enthusiasts have high hopes that it will come in the spring of 2017.
This is due to the fact that the current model was released in October last year. It was in October 2016 when all enthusiasts waited for the announcement of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, only to find out that Microsoft has released the Surface Studio and Surface Book i7 instead.
The only thing that is keeping them hopeful is that October 2017 will be the month dedicated to the Surface Pro 5 since the Microsoft Windows 10 Creators Update is slated to be released at such time. This means the anticipated device may most probably run with the latest from Windows 10.
It has already been reported that, aside from Windows 10, Surface Pro 5 will be powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processor. This is said to boost the device's performance without having to require so much power.
On the contrary, tech experts believe that Surface Pro 5 will be installed with a Snapdragon chipset set since Microsoft already has a done deal with Qualcomm. Other expected features include an LTE connection, improved battery and a rechargeable Surface Pen.
Surface Pen is the most talked-about feature of the upcoming device since it is believed to have a wireless charging technology.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is being offered with a $20 slash of price for a limited time. Furthermore, for every purchase of Pro 4, customers can get the Type Cover without any cost. More of the sale can be found on Microsoft Store.
Amazon also slashes the price of Pro 4 for $677 for the 4GB random-access memory (RAM) model, which is a great deal from the original $800 price tag.
