'Mortal Kombat X' PS4 and Xbox One Patch Brings Gameplay Changes and Character Fixes
The latest patch for the game "Mortal Kombat X" was released on Thursday, May 14, bringing with it gameplay changes and fixes to flaws in characters. NetherRealm Studios earlier announced the news of the patch's arrival on the Warner Bros Play Community website, saying that the patch would be for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
The patch was first released for the PlayStation 4. It will ultimately be released for the Xbox One, but no date has yet been specified. NetherRealm Studios revealed in the patch notes that numerous gameplay changes and character fixes were made in the game.
Notable among the gameplay fixes were improvements in the way matchmaking takes place in the online environment and also how skill ratings are doled out by the algorithm. Specifically the patch also fixed the "Front Punch + Back Punch + Front Kick" simultaneous combination in the cancel window. An enhanced move will not result from this combination anymore.
As for the other fixes related to gameplay, they include the addition of an unlock counter for the Krypt. Players now have the ability to join an "in-progress Ladder, KOTH, or Team Battle match from a chat lobby."
Coming to the fixes for characters, Kitana and Mileena can now perform the X-Ray attack move while they are in the air. Mileena also got improved tracking. As for Cassie (Hollywood), the Assault Force combo will remain in place and cannot be cancelled after knockdowns. Jax's free hit on opponents after his X-Ray attack move has also been removed. As for Takeda, gamers can now use his X-Ray move when he is jumping straight up by employing an arcade stick and hitting the Block + Front Kick + Back Kick combination.
Finally, as promised, the patch also saw the release of a free Classic skin for Reptile, but it is only a costume and does not transform him into his previous human form.
