Moto 360 vs Alcatel Onetouch Watch Specs, Price Review: Comparison of Features - Similar Devices Face Off
The Moto 360 was one of the most popular smartwatches of 2014, but a similar device from Alcatel, the Onetouch, could provide it with serious competition this year.
Design
The Moto 360 has a round watch face made of steel. However, it is not fully circular as a portion at the bottom is occupied by the ambient light sensor and LCD driver. Straps for the device are either made from leather or metal with one version having a gold finish. As for the Alcatel Onetouch, it also has a round watch face made from brushed chrome and stainless steel. It has red and black straps either made from resin or metal. The straps have a built-in USB-based charging port.
Display
The display on the Alcatel Onetouch is a 1.22-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 240 x 204 pixels. The Moto 360 has a LCD screen measuring 1.56 inches with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a density of 205 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Moto 360 has a TI OMAP 3 chipset with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on board storage. On the other hand, the Alcatel Onetouch has a STM429 chipset along with 4 GB of internal storage. The Alcatel smartwatch is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, specifically Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and iOS 7 operating systems or higher. As for the Moto 360, it has to be paired with an Android phone running Jelly Bean 4.3 or higher for it to function.
Sensors
As for the sensors on the watches, the Alcatel Onetouch has an accelerometer, heart rate sensor, Gyro, E-compass and altimeter but does not have GPS. As for the Moto 360 it has a Pedometer and a heart rate monitor.
Price
The Moto 360 is priced at $250 while the Alcatel Onetouch is priced at around $149. The latter is expected to go on sale starting next month.
