Moto 360 vs Pebble Steel Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - Choice Of Rectangular Or Round Watch Face

The Moto 360 is a great looking watch but the Pebble Steel isn't far behind when it comes to specs or design. In fact many reviewers prefer it over the device from Motorola.

Design

The Pebble Steel has a rectangular watch face and is quite different when compared to the round watch face of the Moto 360. As for their design, the Moto 360 and the Pebble Steel have their housings made from steel and glass. However, a major difference between the two is that the Pebble Steel does not have a touchscreen while the Moto 360 has one. As for their straps, the Moto 360 has versions in leather, and gold colored steel. The Pebble Steel also comes with leather and a black steel strap. In terms of water resistance the Moto 360 has a IP67 rating and can be dunked in three feet of water for 30 minutes, while the Pebble Steel has a 5 ATM rating and therefore can withstand depths of up to 50 meters.

Display

The Moto 360 display is a 1.56-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a density of 205 pixels per inch. It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As for the Pebble Steel, it has an e-paper screen measuring 1.26 inches with a resolution of 144 × 168 pixels.

Specs

The Moto 360 comes with a TI OMAP 3 chipset, and it has 512MB RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. The Pebble Steel comes with an ARM Cortex-M3 CPU and a 130mAh battery. One disadvantage of the Pebble Stone is that it has a severely constrained memory with only eight apps that can be used at a given time. On the plus side, the Pebble Steel is compatible with both iOS and Android devices while the Moto 360 only works with Android devices.

Sensors

The Pebble Steel has a 3D accelerometer, light sensor and compass while the Moto 360 has an ambient light sensor, pedometer and heart rate sensor.

The Pebble Steel is currently priced at $199 while the Moto 360 is priced at $250.
