Moto X 2017 release date, specs and latest news: new leaked specs spotted; no Moto Mods support seen
Moto X is still slated for a 2017 release, but leaked specs are already making rounds on the internet. Leaked images spotted show that the anticipated handset has a metal body shell, round camera as well as other exciting features that are expected to come soon.
The reports on the arrival of the Moto X 2017 prove that the previous rumor about its cancellation is not true. It can be recalled that Motorola allegedly decided to stop the Moto X series, but the leaked images may have just debunked the news.
In fact, Lenovo already announced that Moto X is "alive and well," implying that there is another model in the works. To all those who do not know, Lenovo now owns Motorola.
Back to the leaked specs, the imminent Moto X 2017 was first spotted on Slashleaks, in which the device is shown to sport a metal body design. It also boasts a round rear camera, which is already seen in the Moto Z models. However, some enthusiasts noticed the absence of connector pins at the lower part of the phone, causing speculations that there will be no support for the Moto Mods.
The images shown also display the home button located at the bottom of the handset, which may mean that a fingerprint scanner may be installed. Fingerprint scanner has been one of the most common innovations that handset manufacturers are offering today. Samsung, Apple and all other giant companies have already released their own version of a fingerprint scanner, and Lenovo seems to keep up with the competition.
This is not the first time that the alleged specs of Moto X 2017 were leaked. There were previously reported leaked images showing the round-shaped camera, absence of connector pins for Moto Mods and other features.
However, Lenovo is yet to confirm the specs and the release date of Moto X 2017, so everything need not be taken seriously.
