Motorola Droid Turbo vs LG G4 Comparison: LG G4 Slightly Ahead on Specs and Size
LG recently launched the G4, its latest flagship model. It faces tough competition from other smartphones in the market, including the Motorola Droid Turbo, which was released last year. Here is a comparison between the two phones.
Design
The Droid Turbo features a metal rim around its edge but otherwise is made from plastic. It has capacitive buttons in front which run along its bottom. Its back panel is made from either black ballistic nylon or red Kevlar. The LG G4 has a curved body dubbed the "SlimArc," which is made entirely from plastic. On its back, the phone has patterned polycarbonate that comes in white ceramic, gold metallic, and grey metallic options. The LG G4 sports a leather back panel dyed in a variety of natural colors, including black and brown.
Display
The LG G4 has a slight edge in both size and quality. It comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. The Droid Turbo has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch.
Specs
The LG G4 decided not use the Snapdragon 810 chipset. It comes instead with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset along with a hexa-core CPU which has two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU. On the Droid turbo is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset along with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.
Memory
The LG G4 has a clear advantage over its rival as it has a memory slot that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. The Droid Turbo does not have one. Coming to RAM, both devices have 3 GB each.
Camera
The Droid Turbo has a better 21-megapixel camera compared to the 16-megapixel camera of its rival. However, the LG G4 camera has optical image stabilization.
Price
The LG G4 could be priced at $199 with a two-year contract when it becomes available in the U.S. The Droid Turbo costs $99 with a two-year contract.
