After the dramatic second season of "Narcos," many are curious as to what will happen next in the story.

The premiere season of the series got fans excited about the story of Pablo Escobar, played by Wagner Moura. The series gave exposure to the history of the influential man and his downfall. However, the most recent episode of the series saw the inevitable death of the drug lord.

After years of defeating Escobar, the DEA was finally able to stop his reign as Escobar was shot down on a rooftop. This was presented in the second season of "Narcos," ending the narrative that was focused on the notorious drug lord. With Escobar out of the picture, many are curious as to what will be presented on the third season of "Narcos."

The producers of the series reassured fans that the series will continue, as it will go past the life of Escobar. With that, they are planning to delve deeper into the story of drug wars, which will introduce new faces to the mix.

Producer Eric Newman explained that the season ahead will look more into how the presence of drugs affect Colombia. This will be through the new Cali Cartel. He said, "We are going to look deeper into the systemic effects within Colombia of cocaine and corruption. Unlike Escobar, who had positioned himself as an outlaw, Cali was very much a part of the system. They had bought their way in and they enjoyed a different kind of protection than Pablo did. Pablo was protected by the people who loved him and Cali was protected by a political and economic system that they had rather ingeniously built."

He explained that this will bring an interesting change to the series as it presents a different kind of villain. He said that the Cali cartel is a much more complex organization, making it a challenge to be dealt with.
