'Naruto Shippuden' episode 481 spoilers: Young Sasuke and Sakura take spotlight in 'Boyhood Arc'
"Naruto Shippuden" has entered a new phase following Team 7's victory against the Ten-Tails. Now that peace once again reigns supreme in the Shinobi World, the succeeding episodes of the long-running anime series will be taking on a much lighter tone as it features snippets of each character's childhood days.
This week's episode showed Naruto and Hinata, and their contrasting view of life. While Hinata had a home and a family seemed to spend her days in a dutiful trance, Naruto who had absolutely nothing could still somehow find happiness in the little things. His white lie about not crying despite having no one seemed to have inspired Hinata to take up a more positive outlook in life as she starts to harbor a growing admiration for the boy who will become her spouse.
Episode 481 will also be featuring two stories this time about Sasuke and Sakura. The two seemed to have normal families, with whom they could tease and occasionally discuss their dreams. Sasuke used to have a really good relationship with his brother Itachi, while Sakura's dad will be teasing her about how her bangs are getting in the way of her huge forehead. It's an interesting look into the untold part of their lives that may have eventually shaped their personalities.
Anime News Network reported that this new arc is called "Shounen Jidai-hen" or "Boyhood Arc" and it will be featuring other significant characters in their childhood days including Gaara, Shikamaru Jiraiya and Kakashi among others.
The new opening theme "Kara no Kokoro" or "Shell of my Heart" is performed by Anly, while the new ending theme "Tabidachi no Uta" or "Departure Song" is performed by Ayumikurikamaki.
Meanwhile, this upcoming winter, the three epilogue stories known as "Naruto Hiden/Shinden" will also be getting an anime adaptation, further extending the "Naruto Shippuden" narrative.
Episode 481 titled "Sasuke — Sakura" airs on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo.
