Minnesota Timberwolves trade rumors: Joakim Noah and Timberwolves may have mutual interest
As the summer continues for all but two NBA teams, it appears that the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for a big man who can help elevate the team into elite status.
Tom Thibodeau has been tasked to coach a young core who seem to have a positive future ahead of them, and all signs are looking up for Minnesota.
However, the new head coach has a target in mind, a player with whom he is very familiar and one who has the experience to help lead a talented young group: Chicago Bulls' big man Joakim Noah.
Rumors have been circulating about Noah's possible departure from the Bulls, with some even citing that the center-forward has an extreme dislike for the team's front office that he turned down a chance to help the team in a charitable foundation.
As reported by the Chicago Sun Times, Noah, who is also known for his charitable foundations, declined to appear for a Bulls foundation. A snippet of the report can be seen below:
"Noah, who is one of the more charitable players in the entire NBA, had become so annoyed with Forman that he actually turned down a chance to help Bulls Charities earlier this season. According to the player, Noah was approached by Leslie Forman – Gar's wife, as well as the VP of Bulls Charities – to take place in 'some auction where he would have to ride around town with the winner or something like that.'"
Noah didn't like the way he was approached and pressured, so he flatly said "no."
Furthermore, Noah played his worst year as a professional basketball player this season as he only averaged a career-low 4.3 points per game. He also suffered a season-ending injury and only played 29 games in the season.
With that in mind, it is apparent that Noah needs a fresh start, and to play behind his former coach in Minnesota can give him a jolt in his career to return to his All-Star self.
Add the fact that the Wolves seem to be on the climb in the Western Conference, Noah may find himself to be at home.
