NBA trade rumors update: LA Lakers and Wizards eyeing a trade

As the Los Angeles Lakers continue to rebuild this season, it seems that the rumor mill is linking them to various trades that could potentially help them become a playoff team.

Rumors are saying that the Lakers are eyeing an All-Star guard from the East and are ready to let go of their young guns at the moment. John Wall is reportedly the target of the Lakers as they want to have some star power in the team.

Wall is one of the premier point guards in the league. He was featured in the All-Star game in the last three years and averages 18 points, 9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He has carried the Wizards' load and may now be the main star if the Lakers get the deal done.

Surprisingly, the Lakers are rumored to be ready to give up emerging point guard D'Angelo Russell and power forward Julius Randle to get Wall's services.

Russell has slowly become one of the franchise's top players as he has grown in confidence to lead the team this season.

In his career, Russell averages 13.2 points and 3.3 assists per game. However, the biggest thing about Russell with the Lakers is that they are developing their chemistry.

They might not be getting the wins they want and the results they need, but the Lakers are definitely moving forward. The Lakers are slowly becoming the team they used to be known for.

They risk losing that if they trade away their young players, but adding Wall can also give them a brand new dimension in the franchise.

It remains to be seen if the trade is going to push through or if this is all speculation, but it is interesting that that Lakers are willing to dip into other teams in order to strengthen their own.
