New Amiibos, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS Games for Wii U to Be Released in 2015
Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing out several of its existing games to the Wii U virtual console and releasing new ones.
In addition, the company also announced new amiibo cards and a Yarn Yoshi amiibo during its Nintendo Direct event held last April 1.
Nintendo plans to bring games that are already on Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS to Nintendo's Virtual Console for the Wii U. Gamers who have already purchased the games and want to get them on the Wii will only have to add an extra $2 payment for each game.
The company announced a slew of Nintendo DS games that cost between $7 to $10 each. Games such as "Super Mario 64" and "Yoshi's Island DS" are already available for purchase while others will be released throughout the month of April. "Yoshi's Touch & Go" and "WarioWare Touched" for the DS will be released on April 9.
These will be followed on April 16 when "Donkey Kong Country" is released for N64. It will be quickly followed by "Mario Kart DS" on April 23 and finally "Paper Mario" for N64 on April 30.
As for games coming to the Wii U console, they include "Mario Maker" which is due for release in September. It will be preceded by "Splatoon," an action shooter which is due to arrive on May 29.
There is a new form of amiibo cards based on characters that appear in "Animal Crossing." The cards can be used with the "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" game. The cards can be used with the New Nintendo 3DS, but those who want to use them with an older model can buy a NFC peripheral which is due for launching along with "Animal Crossing."
As for the Yarn Yoshi amiibo, it will be launched in the Fall to coincide with the release of the "Yoshi's Woolly World" game. This amiibo can be tapped on the Wii U GamePad controller and it will cause a helper Yoshi to appear on the screen.
