Nexus 6 Price, Contract on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile; Pre-Order Release Date Oct. 29, 2014

Google has officially announced that the  Motorola Nexus 6 phablet will be sold at $649 for the unlocked 32 GB model and $699 for the unlocked 64 GB model.

However, users have the option to acquire the phone without hurting their pocket too much under a contract with any of the major carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. The gadget is already in Google Play but will not be ready for pre-order until Oct. 29.

Here is the official statement from Google: "Nexus 6 will be available for pre-order in late October and in stores in November—with options for an unlocked version through Play Store, or a monthly contract or installment plan through carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon. Specific carrier rollout timing will vary. Check out google.com/nexus for more details on availability."

Here is the official statement from Motorola: "Nexus 6 will be available for pre-order through the Google Play Store in late October starting at $649. There are two colors to choose from - Midnight Blue or Cloud White - and two memory options - 32GB and 64GB. Nexus 6 will also be available on motorola.com and through carrier partners starting in November. You'll hear from our carrier partners soon with additional pricing and availability information. In all, Nexus 6 will come to 28 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America starting later this year and as we head into Q1."

The Nexus 6 features a 5.96-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and pixel density of 493 pixels per inch (ppi); 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU); 3 GB of RAM; 3220 mAh non-removable battery; 4G LTE radio; dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac; Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and LE support; GPS; NFC; and wireless charging capabilities.

The phone will also come with 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video capability, dual-LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and selfies. It will also be one of the first few phones that will feature Google's newest mobile operating system—the Android 5.0 Lollipop.
