Two members of Nicki Minaj's road crew were stabbed outside a bar in Philadelphia early Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of one, reports said.

The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed that De'Von "Day Day" Picket was killed while Eric Parker remained in critical condition following the assault, Billboard learned.

The Philadelphia Police initially refused to reveal the names of the victims or any details of the incident, but a Twitter and Instagram posts of Nicki Minaj confirmed the identities of the victims.

"Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour," Minaj posted on Twitter at 2:01 a.m. on Thursday.

The female rapper expressed her sadness of the death of Picket, calling the incident as a "senseless act of violence."

"These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night. #RIPDAYDAY condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric (on the right) is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad," she said in an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon.

According to an NBC-10 news report, the incident began during an argument inside the Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The argument spilled outside, where witnesses said the two victims were stabbed several times. Police interviewed witnesses to the murder and analyzed the surveillance video on the scene.

Pickett, 29, is a tour manager who was well-known in the music industry and was preparing for Minaj's upcoming tour at the time of his death.

He was with Eric Reed, 27, and three other friends inside the bar around 2:35 a.m. when they got into an argument with another group of men, NBC reported, citing police records.

"We believe that both of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, were all inside of this bar and that's when an argument started," Chief Inspector Scott Small said, according to NBC.

The police said Pickett suffered stab wounds in the torso while Reed suffered stab wounds in his left arm and left side before a private car rushed both men to Albert Einstein Medical Center. Pickett died from his injuries at 2:45 a.m.
