Nintendo NX release date: 2016 launch date, price hinted by Tesco leak
There is virtually no solid information about the Nintendo NX save for leaks, one of which appears to have revealed the pricing and the potential release date of the console.
A listing of the Nintendo NX, which has now been taken down, popped up on the website of UK retailer Tesco, which referred to the console as "Nintendo NX Wii U.
The pricing for the Nintendo NX was listed as £349.99 (which is around $450) and the release date was Dec. 31, 2016. According to Nintendo Life, who first spotted the listing, the information is likely placeholder only.
However, there is still reason to believe the Nintendo NX will finally see the light of day sooner rather than later. Listings such as this usually go live when the product announcement takes place.
Tesco might have been preparing its website, but ended up prematurely making the page live for everyone to see. This also makes the purported October launch for Nintendo NX more likely.
Nintendo and Tesco are yet to clear things up although fans should not expect to. However, the latter has already taken down the listing, which suggests that something is definitely up.
Either way, there is also a possibility that this is no more than an elaborate hoax. With that said, it is recommended for readers to take this report with a grain of salt.
However, Techno Buffalo points out that Tesco and Nintendo have a business history together with the former having helped out the former in the Wii U sales. Other than that, there are no concrete details yet.
Not much is known about the Nintendo NX except for some of the titles to be launched with it such as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
As far as release date goes, previous rumors suggested a March 2017 launch, which is yet to be corroborated as well. Meanwhile, Digitimes is reporting that production for the Nintendo NX has begun.
