Nintendo NX release date news: Nintendo to reveal new console on Sept. 21?
Nintendo NX is the Japanese gaming giant's highly anticipated next-generation console slated for a 2016 release. With media-hyped speculations swirling around rumor land, fans and critics are wondering how Nintendo's upcoming iteration will look like. In spring this year, the company officially announced a global iterative launch of the Wii U successor in March 2017 codenamed "NX."
While the company has been incredibly tight-lipped since the April announcement, a number of reports suggest that the new console's debut next year will be preceded by a product reveal purportedly happening on Sept. 22. If rumors hold credible weight, the next iterative console upgrade should be called "Focus."
With scarce information over the hardware revision, some industry pundits indicate that the gaming device will be more distinct than its predecessors. Per Eurogamer report, the next-generation console will acquire a hybrid form factor— the device is expected to be somewhere between portable handheld and home unit that comes with detachable controllers. Moreover, the hybrid console can be connected to the TV through a docking station.
This major product revamp is expected to trigger consumer interest since other major console platforms are more or less the same. As of press time, Nintendo hasn't issued any official comment on the rumored September product intro.
As more speculations emerge, some reports have identified a slew of launch titles for its NX/Focus lineup. Per Nashville Chatter, these flagship games include "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild," "Dragon Quest X", "Dragon Quest XI", "Just Dance 2017", and lastly, the "Holiday 2017 Sonic Game." In addition to the launch titles, other games rumored to arrive on the forthcoming console include "Pokemon Gold and Silver", "F-Zero^2", "Super Smash Bros Melee", and "Super Smash Bros."
Other rumored additional launch window titles for NX/Focus include "Animal Crossing Election Year," "Pikmin 4," "Pokemon Sun and Moon", "Super Mario focus," and Good-Feel's new IP called "Pileow" per Segment Next report.
