Nokia smartphone rumors: Android-powered tablet leaked
Nokia is plotting for its comeback in the mobile scene and a proof of that is a leaked image of what appears to be the device they will use to make that happen.
Photos out of Weibo reveal a Nokia-branded tablet, which features a metal back. The display, which is believed to be 13.1 inches, appear to be rumored Nokia D1C tablet.
The live images from the Chinese social media site match that of the renders that leaked previously and it appears that Nokia is much closer to the completing it.
Based on the live photos and the renders, the purported Nokia D1C tablet will feature a USB Type-C port on the bottom and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The tablet will come in three colors—black, white and gold, but the last variant, at least based on the renders, will be the only model with the fingerprint sensor.
GSMArena believes that the gold one could be a premium version of the Nokia tablet although there is no way of knowing for sure at the moment.
Early last month, details on the specifications and features of the purported Nokia D1C tablet came out from a couple of benchmark listings.
The device was revealed to be entry level as it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. This will be aided by 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
The Nokia-branded tablet is also expected to sport an 8-megaixel selfie snapper and a 16MP rear-facing camera.
On the software side, it is said to have Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed, which will be something fresh coming from the Nokia brand, whose Lumia smartphone line was bought by Microsoft.
Looking at its set of specs and features, the Nokia D1C tablet should be able to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy View and the Alcatel Xess.
As far as the release date go, the fact that there are already live images of it suggest it will be out soon. Nokia is also set to make its comeback this year.
