NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti release date news: NVIDIA to unveil rumored graphics card at PAX East 2017

Many tech enthusiasts were sure that NVIDIA's rumored GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card was finally going to be making its appearance earlier this month at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. As such, when no GTX 1080 Ti was introduced by NVIDIA during that event, many were left disappointed and wondering if the much-awaited graphics card will ever see the light of day.

However, if recent reports are to be believed, it looks like the waiting for the launch of the much-coveted graphics card won't be for much longer.

According to wccftech, NVIDIA had originally planned to showcase the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to the crowd at the Consumer Electronics Show. However, they decided to skip those plans when it seemed that AMD was not going to be showing Vega. For now, NVIDIA has pushed back the release date of the highly-anticipated graphics card for further polishing.

As the company waits for AMD's next move, they seized the opportunity to allow the existing GTX 1080 to enjoy its performance dominance in the industry for the next few months until the launch of the GTX 1080 Ti.

According to Tech Buyer's Guru, an employee of an NVIDIA board partner at the Consumer Electronics Show revealed that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will officially be showcased at the PAX East 2017 event, which will take place on March 10–12, 2017.

As for its possible specifications, Mobile & Apps reported that the upcoming NVIDIA graphics card is designed with NVIDIA's Pascal architecture and is meant to provide a significant boost to gaming systems. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is rumored to feature an estimated number of 12 billion transistors, significantly greater than the 7.2. billion transistors of the GTX 1080. It will also boast 10GB GDDR5X in memory size.

As for the possible price, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is expected to have a steep price tag, ranging between $600 and $1200.
