Oklahoma City Thunder trade news: Thunder trusting 2013 core

The Oklahoma City Thunder is definitely a different team sans Kevin Durant and with Russell Westbrook as their only real superstar.

However, sticking to what they're good at, the Thunder have also picked up a number of players to hopefully be their anchors for the coming season.

Looking at their line-up, many of the newbies came from the 2013 draft. Considered by many to be one of the weaker draft classes in recent years, the Thunder actually have five players coming from this group.

Proving that they're always good in finding young talent, the Thunder chose Andre Roberson and Steven Adams in 2013. Both picked up in the first round.

With the summer seeing Serge Ibaka move to the Orlando Magic, the Thunder picked up three players for him. Victor Oladipo is the biggest name from the bunch.

Oladipo was one of the bigger names in the 2013 draft, with many considering him as a possible top pick.

Oklahoma City's next move saw them rescind their qualifying offer to Dion Waiters which allowed Alex Abrines to make it to the team. Finally, Joffrey Lauvergne was picked up from the Denver Nuggets which made him the fifth player from the 2013 draft to don a Thunder uniform.

Aside from Oladipo, none of the newcomers are expected to make big hits at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. At the most, they are expected to perform their assigned roles to help out the team.

However, Adams and Roberson are used to the system that the Thunder plays and Oladipo is now easily the team's second best player after Westbrook.

Despite having such an underwhelming draft class making up the majority of the team, the Thunder do not seem so lost. It should still be a very interesting season for the Thunder as they have a very young core and one that can hopefully be together for a long time.
