ABC's "Once Upon a Time" season 6 is coming to a close, and the showrunners have been confirmed to close this season's chapter to start a new one in season 7. Meanwhile, two lead actors have been confirmed to be singing in their upcoming musical episode.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will be returning this March with episode 11, titled "Tougher Than the Rest," where Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) will be faced with the one destined to give her death: Gideon (Giles Matthey).

As seen from the episode photos, Emma and Regina (Lana Parilla) will still be stuck in the alternate dimension, where they will cross paths with August (Eion Bailey). TV Fanatic hints that August might help Emma in trying to get out of her predicament with Gideon.

However, Emma and Gideon's fight is destined to happen, even Gideon's parents — Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Rumple (Robert Carlyle) — will not be able to stop it.

ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey shared at the Television Critics Association 2017 that showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are planning to close the storyline for season 6 and start a new one in season 7.

"I think they would put a little bit of a bow here, and then there is a next piece that comes after that, so they are trying to figure out what that is and how that works," Dungey told Deadline.

But Dungey assured that the showrunners will provide closure for this season's story no matter what direction they take for season 7.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that Morrison will have her own solo in their upcoming musical episode that will premiere this spring. Aside from the "Once" heroine, Parilla as the Evil Queen will have a sing-off against the Charmings, TVLine reports.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns on Sunday, March 5, on ABC.
