"One Piece" promo still | Fuji TV

Following the high of saving Raizo and deciphering the mystery that is the Road Ponelgraph, Luffy and his band of pirates have no more time to spare to linger around. This time, they are faced with an important decision to make regarding helping the Kozuki Family regain their territory in a brand-new "One Piece."

Unfortunately, whatever kind of camaraderie that Raizo, Kanjuro and Kin'emon developed with the Strawhat Pirates will not be enough for Luffy to meddle with other people's business. The Kozuki Family retainers good-naturedly asked the pack leader if he and his team could help them in their campaign to reclaim what is supposed to be theirs. However, spoilers suggest that in a manner that surprised even his subordinates, Luffy decides to decline the plea for help.

As it turns out, the captain only wants for Momonosuke to stand up for himself and what he believes in. He urges him to develop a backbone in terms of standing up for what is rightfully theirs including the Wano Country, especially when he is the official heir to that land. However, instead of moping and brooding, the samurai proceeded to explain his perspective of things narrating how his father, Oden, and mother suffered terribly under Kaido. Mining strength from within himself, coupled with the urge to avenge his parents' deaths, he declared that he wants nothing more but to save his territory from the evil Beast Pirates.

Inspired by Momonosuke's motivation, Luffy finally agrees to help the clan in their fight against their oppressors but that would have to wait as the Strawhat Pirates need to address their own woes first. The group then plans to travel to Whole Cake Island to finally save Sanji, who had been detained for quite some time now by Big Mom. However, the captain reiterated that he endeavors to keep his word in helping retrieve the Wano Country.

"One Piece" episode 771 was originally scheduled to air last weekend but was eventually delayed for a week because of Fuji TV's special programming for the New Year's Day celebration. The installment is now tipped to roll out this coming Saturday, Jan 7 on its usual timeslot.
