'One Punch Man' season 2 air date, spoilers, & update: Saitama uncovers King's secret; Garou finally appears?
Not all heroes are good. When "One Punch Man" returns for its second season, Saitama may reportedly have a rather revealing personal encounter with one S-Class fraud.
King had previously been featured in a couple of episodes in "One Punch Man" season 1, when Saitama happened to have punched one monster after another into smithereens. Since Saitama was just a hero for fun at the time and was not particularly keen on taking credit for his work, King had unintentionally been banking on Saitama's supposed superhero reputation, and had even gotten an S-Class ranking in the Hero Association.
But if "One Punch Man" season 2 sticks with the manga's storyline, Saitama may find out the truth behind King's superhero reputation soon. As speculated by a source, the first episode of season 2 could expose King's true strength (or apparent lack of it), after he runs away from a fight to play video games and Saitama follows him.
In chapter 38 of the "One Punch Man" manga, a Giant Crow with demon-level strength was attracted to Saitama's bald head and lunged for an attack in King's apartment. It was at this point that King revealed the truth behind his reputation to the man he had unintentionally stolen it from. Saitama took the revelation rather coolly and even advised King to strive to become stronger and hinted that he might come by once in a while to play video games with him.
If the upcoming "One Punch Man" season 2 follows this storyline, it looks like King's secret will be safe with Saitama, and the Caped Baldy may have just won himself a potentially strong ally in the future.
Additionally, the upcoming season is also rumored to be based on chapters 45-51 of the manga series, which cover the Hero Hunt arc. This featured Saitama battling it out with the Human Monster, Garou. The latter may just be strong enough to give the Caped Baldy an epic fight to match the one he had with Lord Boros, in season 1.
Of course, these are all just speculations since "One Punch Man" season 2 is still in the works and a confirmed release date is yet to be announced.
