Rachel Duncan is alive!

This is what John Fawcett, executive producer of "Orphan Black," revealed about the science fiction series when it returns to B.B.C. America on April 18.

Responding to Entertainment Weekly's Spoiler Room, Fawcett revealed that Rachel actually survived the attack during the show's second season finale.

"She's alive. How do you take someone like that and then f*ck them up? How do they respond to that? This is someone who has a ton of power, really, and thrives on," Fawcett explained.

But the "Orphan Black" creator also disclosed that Rachel will have to struggle with her new imperfections when she returns this coming spring.

Last season, viewers saw her being shot in the eye with a pencil, which seemed have done her a permanent damage.

This leaves her clone, Fawcett explained, impaired and disfigured that will definitely have a huge impact on her storyline for the third season.

In the next season, Game N Guide told viewers to expect to see Rachel dealing with the reality of no longer being on top, which could lead her to begin working with the sisters against their own enemies.

Entertainment Weekly also noted that her replacement in DYAD Institute would surprise fans.

Fans know that Marion, Delphine, and Cosima are the only characters who are deeply involved with DYAD. But Marion wouldn't exactly surprise fans since they do not know much about her except that she is already involved with DYAD.

Delphine or Cosima as the new leader would definitely shock viewers considering that the promotion would actually be the best way to get Delphine back from Germany, the International Business Times reported.

Rachel transferred her to keep the scientist away from her girlfriend Cosima, but the synopsis revealed that she would still be in the "Orphan Black" Season 3. Her return, at the very least, will be another thing that makes Rachel feel powerless.

Of course, the new leader might not be any of the women already involved with the institute. Some fans already know that writers could just easily throw in a character who previously had no connection to DYAD to shock them.

But until April, they would just have to continue guessing.
