'Oxenfree' gameplay, latest news: game features vocal talents from 'Borderlands,' 'The Walking Dead'
"Oxenfree" for PlayStation (PS4) is set to hit the shelves before this month ends and a physical copy has already been announced. Limited Run Games will dispense the copy, but only for limited supply.
Night School Studio has just announced that Limited Run Games will distribute the physical copies of "Oxenfree," first released for PC, Mac on Xbox One, PS4 players were left out from the fun, causing them to rant about their own version not coming out.
Finally, with Night Studio and Limited Run Games' partnership, "Oxenfree" will soon be available this month, though no official date has been announced yet.
"In Oxenfree, you play as Alex, a bright, rebellious girl who brings her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party on an old military island. The night takes a terrifying turn when you unwittingly open a ghostly gate spawned from the island's cryptic past," the description reads on the PlayStation.com.
Players are in for some exploration as they set their journey on a mysterious island, rich with several story paths, giving them the right to determine Alex's destiny. The story starts with a party located a few miles from Alex's hometown. The fun scene quickly changes to terrifying happenings as the character finds himself in the events during the World War II.
The gameplay includes exploration of negative space using a radio. This allows the character to be in touch with the unknown specters and be able to control things that surround her. Also, the Create or Crush Real Relationships can create bonds with friends and "enemies during the overnighter from hell." Players will be able to experience a new kind of conversation system that can change the fate of Alex.
Players can also immerse themselves with the game's original soundtrack, "Sword & Sworcery" and "Galak-Z" by scntfc, alongside the vocals from hit shows "Borderlands" and "The Walking Dead."
