'Paragon' news: Monolith DLC released; full patch notes reveal game's massive overhaul
Epic Games finally released the latest update for its striking MOBA video game "Paragon."
Known as "Monolith," the latest update for the game was first announced last month. As the name suggests, the DLC is massive in size and brings a lot of major overhauls in the game. The update's release also came with a new trailer, giving players more details about the improvements made by Monolith.
At the top of the long list of changes is the map's lane structure, size, and "meta-gameplay." According to lead hero designer Cameron Winston, the developers came up with the update because the quality of "Paragon" is still not where they want it to be. One of the major tweaks they did is making the gameplay a lot faster than usual.
"Specifically, we're talking about faster movement speed, ability and attack execution speed, and overall game lethality. We feel this direction will help Paragon truly achieve the goal we've always had: The MOBA that puts you in the action," Winston explained in a press statement.
"Paragon" players can check out the full patch notes over at Epic Games' website. Some of the highlights from the list include a whole bunch of hero updates and a new stat card called "Power." Also, the original map has been disabled to make way for the new asymmetrical map called Monolith. Buffs are no longer dropped because they now fly to the last hitter and Hero Kills no longer drop CP on the ground since it is awarded directly to assists or kills.
"If you're a prior player," added Winston, "and if Paragon wasn't everything you hoped it would be, leave all of your expectations at the door and walk into it with fresh eyes."
Developed and published by Epic Games, "Paragon" is a free-to-play multiplayer video game available for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows PC.
