People's Choice Awards 2015 Update News: Anna Faris and Allisson Janney to Host; Shailene Woodley Leads Nominees
The 2015 People's Choice Awards is eagerly being awaited by fans who have cast more than 70 million votes to determine who should go on the ballot for categories in TV, film, and music.
The awards will be held at Nokia Theater L.A. on Jan. 7, 2015 from 9 p.m. - 11 p.m. ET and will be telecast live on CBS.
There are 58 categories for the awards. Actual voting will be open until Dec. 4 of this year. It's already been announced that "Mom" stars Anna Faris and Allisson Janney will do the hosting chores. It's also been reported this early that actress Shailene Woodley is leading the nominees.
Woodley is seen as a darling of the fans, having been nominated for "Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress," "Favorite Action Movie Actress," and "Favorite Movie Duo."
Woodley's acting partnership with Theo James, her co-star in "Divergent," and her performance with Ansel Elgort in "The Fault in Our Stars" were both seen as worthy of nomination.
Channing Tatum, meanwhile, is Woodley's male equivalent. Tatum was nominated for "Favorite Movie Actor" and "Favorite Comedic Movie Actor." He and Jonah Hill, Tatum's co-actor in "22 Jump Street," are also in the running for "Favorite Movie Duo."
Among the other hotly contested categories and nominees are "22 Jump Street," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Maleficent," and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" for "Favorite Movie."
Actors vying for individual awards are: Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, Mark Wahlberg, and Robert Downey Jr. for "Favorite Movie Actor"; Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy, and Scarlett Johansson for "Favorite Movie Actress."
"The Big Bang Theory," "Game Of Thrones," "NCIS," "Once Upon a Time," and "The Walking Dead" are gunning it out for "Favorite TV Show."
Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel are the candidates for "Favorite Late Night Talk Show Host."
For music, the "Favorite Male Artist" nominees are Blake Shelton, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, and Sam Smith, while the "Favorite Female Artist" nominees are Beyonce, Iggy Azalea, Katy Perry, Sia, and Taylor Swift.
