A third film of the "Percy Jackson" franchise might not be happening, but a TV series of the franchise might be developed under The CW network.

The "Percy Jackson" film franchise first came out with "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" in 2010, followed by "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" in 2013. Fans are still hopeful that a third film of the franchise will come out soon, carrying the title of its novel counterpart, "The Titan's Curse."

However, lead actor Logan Lerman, who portrays the titular role, confirmed during an interview with MTV that a third film may no longer be happening for "Percy Jackson."

The actor also shared that he signed a contract to do three "Percy Jackson" films, indicating that if ever a third one pushes through, Lerman is obliged to do it.

"If we want to make a third one I have to do it, I'm contractually obligated to three movies. I love those movies, they're a lot of fun to make," Lerman explained according to The Independent. But the actor also added that he hasn't heard any updates about a third "Percy Jackson" film in the making.

The "Percy Jackson" franchise may be over in film, but it has yet to begin on the TV platform. According to News Everyday, a TV adaptation of the franchise is already underway and is set to air on The CW. Unfortunately, the network will be getting a new actor to play Percy, ending Lerman's portrayal of the demi-god.

The actor has to be in the teenage bracket that can portray a 14-year-old demi-god, who will also be given a 10-year contract to do the upcoming series. Other cast members will be given the same contract agreements as well, indicating that The CW wants to do a long run on the franchise.

The author of the "Percy Jackson" novels also shared his excitement in creating a TV series based on his work, also agreeing that there should be a new set of actors to create the cast of the franchise.

There are still no updates regarding "Percy Jackson 3."
