'Persona 5' release date news 2016: trailer video reveals storyline, the Phantom and the silent protagonist's abilities
The "Persona 5" trailer has just come out and it immediately piqued the interest of players. The trailer has been circulated in various gaming website and the Phantom has been talked about ever since.
Atlus USA recently revealed the "Persona 5" English trailer that shows a glimpse of the gameplay. The role-playing game (RPG) title features the silent protagonist, known as a high-school student who attends a school in Tokyo, and how he manages his group. The interesting angle about the main character is that the main hero has the "ability to enter the hearts of people and force them to confront their true selves."
According to Polygon, the silent protagonist's capabilities, somehow, can be comparable to ESPN's "UP Close" in the early 1990s. The silent hero will eventually become the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. The group is on the mission to provide justice to humankind and the players will then have to see more of this when "Persona 5" comes out.
For those new to the title, "Persona 5" is set in its own universe, but has a take on the modern times. It focuses on a group of people who have collected the Personas to face evil forces.
The companion of the silent protagonist is a problem child named Ryuji Sakamoto, who also is a member of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Another founding member is a cat-like creature named Morgana. The story takes it from there, bringing more people in the group to accomplish their mission.
"Persona 5" is scheduled to be released in the West on April 4, 2017. It is initially announced to come out on Feb. 14, 2017, but was later delayed. However, the delay may be worth it as the English title now has Japanese vocal options.
Preorders of "Persona 5" is also available via the PlayStation Store. There are preorder perks available, including additional downloadable content (DLC), PlayStation 4 (PS4) themes and three avatars.
