The verdict on Lane Johnson's immediate future with the Philadelphia Eagles is still up in the air.

Reports revealed that Johnson violated the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs and may face a 10-game suspension.

The offensive tackle is a big loss to the Eagles as he is one of their most reliable players on the field.

This is reportedly Johnson's second run-in with the same regulation. At the moment, however, there is still no definite resolution on the matter.

It is possible that the 10-game suspension may be lowered, upheld or removed completely. Latest reports expect Johnson to play on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters, Eagles coach Doug Pederson revealed that Johnson should suit up for the game.

He said: "It's a strange deal, but week to week, we just go that route and [Halapoulavaati Vaitai] or Allen [Barbre] or whoever we end up putting over there, will be ready to go. But right now it's Lane Johnson at right tackle."

The delay in the ruling is due to Johnson's appeal that the suspension be shortened. Since they are awaiting the decision of an arbitrator, everyone feels that Johnson should be allowed to play during Week 5.

Having Johnson in the line-up should give the team a big boost as they look to remain unbeaten this season.

At the moment, the Eagles record is 3-0 as they lead the NFC East over the surging Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and New York Giants.

The Eagles are also coming off a bye week which means they have more rest. Still, they are hoping that Johnson will be in the line-up this weekend.

Johnson is a highly-touted offensive tackle as he was picked fourth overall in the 2013 draft. He has also been a staple of reliability as he has only missed four games total in his tenure in the NFL.
