Even with the news that the production of the "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has been completed, there are reports that someone from one of the previous films of the multi-billion dollar franchise will be returning alongside franchise stars Johnny Depp (as Captain Jack Sparrow) and Orlando Bloom (as Will Turner).

Gossip blog TooFab shared the news that actress Keira Knightley, who played Elizabeth Swann in the first three films of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, will be making a surprise return to the upcoming fifth installment of the popular Disney franchise.

Sources close to the production of "Dead Men Tell No Tales" allegedly told the media outlet that the Oscar-nominated actress has secretly shot scenes for her small cameo role during the end credits.

Her brief participation in the fifth movie reportedly hints at a potentially larger and more significant role in the sixth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film. However, Disney has yet to comment on the rumors of Knightley's casting.

Loyal fans of the film franchise may recall that the storyline of Knightley's character was concluded in the third "Pirates" film. In the post-credit scene of "At World's End," Elizabeth was given a happy ending, with Will reuniting with his wife and their son after being out on the sea for a decade.

For "Dead Men Tell No Tales," the official synopsis reveals that Captain Jack Sparrow will be encountering ill-fortune when deadly ghost pirates, led by his former nemesis Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle. These ghostly pirates are determined to kill every pirate at sea including Captain Jack.

His only hope of survival is in finding the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a mystical artifact that bestows upon its possessor absolute control over the seas.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, and it is scheduled to premiere next summer on May 26, 2017.
