Although these reports made many people totally excited about its nearing release, the decision to roll out the gaming system this year might not be a good business move. According to several tech observers, Sony does not really want to release the new console if it plans to go head to head with Nintendo NX and the Project Xbox Scorpio from Microsoft.

According to Yahoo News, Amazon Spain has listed the PlayStation Neo on its website at $450. Apparently, industry observers believe that the price is considerably too expensive considering that the original PlayStation 4 was priced at $400 when it was launched in North America. However, many people think that the price is just about right, given that it has advanced specs under the hood. Not to mention, the upcoming console will have 4K resolution support and provides better VR experience.

As of the moment, Sony has yet to confirm these reports, which could suggest that these details are merely just rumors and speculations. Amazon Spain could have easily made a mistake when they included the PlayStation Neo in their listing.

Meanwhile, Sony and Microsoft claimed that each of their latest gaming consoles is not next generation systems. They are just upgraded versions of the current consoles in the market today. Nonetheless, the upcoming PlayStation Neo and the Xbox Project Scorpio will have amazing features that are not found in any of the gaming consoles today.

Meanwhile, Forbes reported that Sony will delay the release of PlayStation NEO until next year. The publication added that the best strategy for the company is to launch the console in 2017 along with Nintendo's and Microsoft's new systems.

For now, all three major console manufacturers have yet to provide specific release dates.
