PlayStation Plus March 2017 free games guide: How to acquire the free games
Playstation (PS) Plus, or simply PS+, members can expect to get their money's worth when they sign up for this. They get to enjoy cloud game save storage, discounts on titles and downloadable content, and exclusive promos. Members may also have the chance to serve as beta players of certain titles being tested. Arguably the best perk for PS+ members, however, is the opportunity to download games for free each month.
Six free games are typically offered on PS+ monthly: two are playable on PS3, two are for PS4 players, and the remaining two are for those using PS Vita. The games can be downloaded through the PlayStation Store, which can be accessed on members' gaming consoles or on their computers. They will then need to sign into their accounts. From there, they can select which of the free games available for the month they want to install, add these to their cart, and then selecting "Purchase," although no actual charges will be made.
A Playstation Plus account is not locked on to a console, so those who have different models of PS consoles in their household, such as PS3 and PS4, do not need to get multiple subscriptions as one will suffice for all consoles.
Only those with active PS+ accounts can access and download the monthly free games. Canceling one's membership will mean that the player will no longer be able to access what he/she got through this. Similarly, those who allowed their subscription to lapse and then purchased a new membership will no longer be able to access the games they previously downloaded from their old account.
Playstation is currently offering a promotion. Purchasing a year-long membership through the PlayStation Store will allow the buyer to get three months of PS+ and Showtime for free.
The free games for PS+ members for March are as follows: Disc Jam (PS4), Tearaway Unfolded (PS4), Under Night: In-Birth (PS3), Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3), Lumo (PS Vita), and Severed (PS Vita).
