Sony launched its PlayStation Virutal Reality (VR) headset on Oct. 13. So far, the device has gotten great praise from the gaming community, as it boasts an impressive design with far better features than other VR headsets in the market.

The PlayStation VR has a global user network, which puts it ahead of other VR headsets in the market such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. Both opposing consoles require serious gaming setups, whereas the upcoming PS VR only needs a standard console.

In addition, the PS VR is more affordable compared to the Oculus Rift, which costs $600, and the HTC Vive, which costs $800.

The PS VR headset costs gamers $399. Along with the headset, gamers get a processor unit, a VR headset connection cable, an HDMI cable, a USB cable, stereo headphones, a power cord and an adaptor. However, they need the PS Move camera and the controllers, which are an additional cost. Hence, players need to spend a little over $399.

The headset has a 5.7-inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display with a 1920 x 1080 at 960 x 1080 per eye resolution. It runs at 120 Hz rate.

The design looks like a piece from a science-fiction movie. The LED lights that surround the headset aren't only for aesthetic value. The lights are used to track the PS VR. Furthermore, a camera implemented within the device helps track the user's surroundings.

According to reports, over 230 video game developers are currently working on their respective titles for the device and more than 160 titles are reportedly in development. Over 70 of those titles will be launched in the weeks to come until January 2017.

A few of the titles that are slated to launch within the period are "Eagle Flight," "EVE: Valkyrie," "Headmaster," "Rez Infinite," "Wayward Sky," "RIGS: Mechanized Combat League," "Tumble VR," "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood," and "PlayStation VR Worlds."
