'Pretty Little Liars' season 7B spoilers: Showrunner hints at possible reunion; what's next for 'Emison?'

Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) must decide if they want to be with each other or just remain friends when the seventh season of "Pretty Little Liars" returns this Spring.

Emily and Alison have been close friends over the course of seven seasons, but their relationship never really crossed into the "dating" territory. Although there have been kisses, cuddles, and heartfelt conversations, the two characters never considered taking their friendship to a different level. Things took a different turn in the midseason finale when the PLLs learned that Alison is pregnant, which led to another romantic "Emison" moment. Now that only 10 episodes are left in the show, the ladies will have to decide what's the real score between them.

Speaking with TV Guide, Pieterse shared her thoughts on the fan-favorite couple."I think she's always had strong feelings for Emily, and she's always been confused about what they actually mean," she said. "I can't say [whether or not they'll happen] but you'll see," she went on to say.

Filming for "Pretty Little Liars" has officially wrapped up last year, and showrunner Marlene King is already working on a different series called "Famous in Love." During the Television Critics Association winter press tour, King revealed that she'd love to do some sort of reunion for the Freeform drama in the future. For now, though, she's still getting over the fact that the program is coming to an end.

"I feel like it's time to say goodbye. It's the right time," she said. "It feels like it's special enough that it'll find another life somewhere. It's supposed to be over, it's the right time, and hopefully it's a satisfying ending. I hope most people will be very happy, and I think they will," the showrunner added.

The seventh and final season of "Pretty Little Liars" returns on Tuesday, April 18, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
