'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers, cast news update: Paul Kellerman, Alexander Mahone coming back?
Fans of the drama series "Prison Break" are thrilled with the news that Paul Kellerman may return for the next installment set to premiere this fall. The role on "Prison Break" season 5, as with previous seasons, is played by Paul Adelstein. While this report is a substantial one backed by some word of confirmation from the actor's Instagram, word of another character's return, Alexander Mahone, played by William Fichtner, is not.
Adelstein posted, "Go for Kellerman... REALLY?? Oh, you KNOW I'm in for more Prison Break, byatch."
When news of Kellerman's return broke out, the first thing people asked was whether the reformed felon has, for real, turned over a new leaf. The former corrupted Secret Service agent had been an instrument in the imprisonment of Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). After his stint as a Congressman for the United States government, he has placed his bid for the presidency, as revealed in season 4.
With "Prison Break" season 5 said to be picking up where the last installment left off, there is a great probability that the series' next run will reveal the return of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller). The character was believed dead but clues which have emerged suggest that he is alive. Burrows and Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne) are also expected to appear in the next season as they work toward an escape plan after finding out Scofield may not be dead but languishing in a foreign prison instead.
Other characters also bound for a season 5 return are C-Note, played by Rockmond Dunbar; T-Bag, by Robert Knepper; and Sucre, by Amaury Nolasco.
No formal word though on Mahone has come out, though fans assume that with Kellerman coming back, it is a foregone conclusion that Mahone is never far behind. The FBI agent seemed to have this obsession over getting his hands on Kellerman and landing him behind bars.
As to new cast members, Mark Feuerstein, who stars in "Royal Pains," will be joining "Prison Break" season 5 when it gets back on Fox.
