Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor news: Samsung Galaxy S8 to be the first device to receive Snapdragon 835?
The partnership of Samsung and Qualcomm resulted in the most anticipated processor, the Snapdragon 835. The processor will be installed in the smartphones to be released in 2017.
Samsung and Qualcomm already confirmed that they are working together to produce the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, though they did not reveal specific details of it. Qualcomm, however, guaranteed that more details will be announced in the next several weeks.
The only thing certain for now is that Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor is made with 10nm FinFET process from South Korea and will be made available on shelves in the first quarter of 2017. It is rumored that Samsung's Galaxy S8 will be the model that will be packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, though both companies are keeping a tight lip about everything.
This sounds reasonable though since Samsung is expected to come out with an impressive device following the downfall of Note 7. It can be recalled that the South Korean tech company suffered greatly from the battery issues of Galaxy Note 7.
While the specs of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor remain a secret, an alleged leak has circulated through different tech websites, showing that the processor can carry eight cores rather than four. The leak was reportedly sourced from China, in which a document was disclosed showing the alleged specs of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
If the leak is assumed to be true, then Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will be an octa-core kind, which is different from the Snapdragon 820 or the Snapdragon 821. The leak also shows that the processor will come out in the latter half of 2017, contrary to the news that it will come out in the first quarter of 2017.
Other alleged specs include a Universal Flash Storage 2.1, which will majorly improve what the early versions have offered in terms of data security by using inline cryptography between Universal Flash Storage (UFS) device and system on chip (SoC).
