Ray Donovan' season 5 air date news, spoilers: Show's fifth season to end on a positive note?
Could the fifth season of "Ray Donovan" be the last? Showrunner David Hollander takes a few moments to comment on the show's future and says that he would end it on a positive note.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hollander talks about himself and how he is planning on ending the show. He says, "We have to reach a point with Ray where we say goodbye to him, and the goodbye shouldn't be death."
The story follows Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber), a professional "fixer" for the wealthy people of Los Angeles. He's said to make everybody's problems go away, unless they are created by the members of his own family.
Abby Donovan (Paula Malcomson) is already free from her cancer sickness, and her doctors have already told her that she no longer needs to undergo a double mastectomy. Terry Donovan (Eddie Marsan), however, has just discovered that he is seriously ill and more of his predicament will be revealed in the upcoming fifth season.
With his family causing a lot more drama in his already complicated career, Ray has a lot of things under his belt for the upcoming final season. With the showrunner's note, however, fans can expect that the show will end on a positive note for the protagonist.
"Ray Donovan" has been steadily going as a series since it first aired back in 2013. The series has already had 60 episodes and has even received numerous Golden Globe nominations for the performances of Schreiber and Voight, with the latter eventually taking home the Golden Globe in 2014.
Schreiber has already been nominated for the Golden Globe three times for his role as Ray (and nominated for the Emmys twice). Could the fifth (and final) season finally bring him the win?
"Ray Donovan" season 5 will air sometime next year.
