Giussepe and Teresa Giudice will be trading their roles starring in a reality television show for prison, after being found guilty recently.

Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice was sentenced to 41 months in prison, while his wife was sentenced to 15 months. The couple was also ordered to pay $10,000 immediately as part of the $414,000 in restitution.

In an interview, the 42-year old Giudice gave an emotional statement in court.

"I am scared. I'm a wife and a mother. But today I am humbled. I fully take responsibility for my actions. It's time for me to wake up. I deeply love my family. My four daughters are my life," said Giudice.

Judge Esther Salas stated that she considered probation for Teresa Giudice, but changed her mind when the couple failed to reveal $75,000 worth of assets on a probation form. Salas, however, agreed to stagger the Giudices' sentences in such a way that one parent can be home with the children while the other serves their time in prison.

The wife will serve her prison time first on Jan. 5, since her husband is facing possible deportation when he is released from jail due to the fact that he is not a citizen of the United States.

In March, the couple pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, as well as three types of bankruptcy fraud. The husband also pleaded guilty to failing to file a tax return for 2004.

Reports say that the reason behind the actions of the Guidices is their association with wealthy circles. The family allegedly wanted to keep up with the lifestyle of their friends by having good cars and big houses. Indeed, Teresa Giudice is known in "Real Housewives of New Jersey" for her expensive taste.

Through a spokesperson, the family expressed they will reflect on what has happened to them, and at the same time look at it as a chance for a new beginning.
