'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, latest rumors: Upcoming single-player game to feature three playable characters?
Ever since gaming fans has been teased about its development and ever since the game was subsequently revealed, there has been very little news about any development concerning "Red Dead Redemption 2" from Rockstar Games. However, recent leaks from an alleged insider may be enough to satiate the curiosity of the gaming community.
As reported by Gadgets 360, a known serial leaker shared important details about "Red Dead Redemption 2," particularly its similarity with Rockstar's other video game, "Grand Theft Auto V." In "GTA V" players were allowed to switch between playable characters Michael, Trevor, and Franklin.
"It'll be just like Redemption. Single player story, open world, stranger events, gang hideouts and all that s**t. Three playable members of John's former gang, and John isn't one," the source posted in a forum, which was shared in Neogaf.
Aside from the leak about having three playable characters in "Red Dead Redemption 2," another leak revealed an alleged copy of the video game's new map. A notable feature in the rumored new map is the addition of a location called New Bordeaux, which is reportedly based on New Orleans.
Because the new map features several added islands, there are speculations that the playable characters will be equipped with the ability to swim. Certain vessels or contraptions could also be added in the game so that players could be allowed to travel from one island to another and have a complete gaming experience.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" has reportedly been in development for over two years. The game is also confirmed to have been designed to feature a dedicated online platform, another element inspired from the "GTA" game franchise. The online space for the upcoming game is similarly built as "Grand Theft Auto Online."
Rockstar Games' Western-themed video game "Red Dead Redemption 2" is scheduled to be released sometime in fall 2017.
