'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, news: game coming in October according to new leak
Rockstar Games is keeping "Red Dead Redemption 2" details to the minimum, but an online retailer appears to have rendered the developer's silence on the release date of the game.
The sequel is only being advertised for fall of 2017, but UK online retailer Little Woods indicates on its listing of the game that it will come out on Oct. 2 this year.
The retailer still has the page and the information online although there is no way of knowing for sure if this really is the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
Some speculate that the online retailer, like the rest, received word about the release date from Rockstar, but made the mistake of putting it up on their page too early.
Little Woods does not only sell games. It offers a variety of items. This has many thinking that the release date was meant for something else and someone inputted the information on the "Red Dead Redemption 2" instead of another item.
Oct. 2 is a Monday, which makes it an unlikely release date for the sequel as games in the United States are always released on a Tuesday and Friday for Europe.
This has iDigital Times believing that, should the said date really see "Red Dead Redemption 2" hit the shelves, it is Rockstar trying something new or it could simply be a worldwide launch date.
Many are skeptic about the release date also because bigger retailers such as GameStop and Amazon still has the placeholder date of Dec. 31, 2017.
Rockstar remains silent in the midst of this potentially massive leak. In fact, ever since the reveal of "Red Dead Redemption 2," the studio has been silent about the game.
Many expect that fans will hear more about the sequel soon as it has been several months since Rockstar unveiled the game to the world.
