"Red Dead Redemption 2" may still be a few months from its targeted Fall 2017 rollout date, but as early as now, numerous leaks in terms of its exact release abound including the latest one brought this time by a U.K. retailer.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a sales posting for the sequel title in seller GameSeek's page having an Oct. 20 "due for release" tag, which was then picked up by media outlets. The information, however, has not yet been verified and there's a possibility that the date listed was nothing but a placeholder. Nevertheless, it coincides with "Red Dead Redemption 2's" timetable of an autumn release. Albeit not syncing in terms of the day, previously the retailer LittleWoods.com, which is also based in the United Kingdom, has tipped an October launch for the game. However, the latter's claimed day is a couple of weeks earlier than the former, which is Oct. 2.

So far, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have remained relatively mum on any other information regarding the upcoming open-world, western action-adventure video game. Except for a teaser trailer coupled with a description that says, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland. The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience," no other detail has yet emerged from the developer's camp. On top of that, even its initial compatible platforms on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have remained the same with no new updates as to whether the game will be ported to Microsoft Windows and Nintendo NX or not.

This scarcity of information, however, is expected to change by February, with Take-Two's stockholders' meetings scheduled next month as tipped by Yahoo Finance. During this time, alongside the reporting of how the company has fared so far, it is also a platform to lay out future plans to entice investors and keep fans interested.

At this point in time though, it is advisable to take these rumors with a little bit of apprehension as Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have enough time in their hands to space out marketing for "Red Dead Redemption 2." That means that they could easily pepper details all throughout the year and then bust the information gates open as their target Q3/Q4 release date nears.
