'Reign' season 4 release date, spoilers news: Cast member says show 'might' get season 5
The cast and crew are down to filming the final episode for "Reign" season 4 and some fear that it will also serve as the final episode of the whole series.
Actor Dan Jeannotte, who plays the role of James Stuart, recently shared a photo of the script for season 4 finale with an ominous caption that read, "Back at it ... for the last time?"
This naturally had fans worried about the status of the show and that "Reign" season 4 will be last. However, Jeannotte did his best to appease fans.
"Everybody be cool! We've been working on Season 4 since June ... we're about to start filming the last episode of this season," he wrote on the comment section of the photo that has been flooded with remarks of fear and concern.
"We don't KNOW yet whether the show is getting picked up for a fifth season. But it might! Cross your fingers [and] appeal to your deities [and] let The CW know how much you love Reign," he went on to say.
For a while now, rumors about "Reign" season 4 being the last have been floating around. It is being said that the decline of the viewership and ratings of the show are pushing The CW to pull the plug on it.
While the show really is having a hard time with the ratings, Jeannotte's remark shows that there is still a chance for the show to come back for another year.
"Reign" season 4 will follow Mary (Adelaide Kane) as she takes back her home, Scotland, while attempting to move on from the death of Francis (Toby Regbo).
Fans will meet new characters including Leesa, Catherine's (Megan Follows) daughter who appears to be her least favorite, resulting in her longing for her mother's affection.
Mary will also meet two men in her journey for love. One is Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) and the other is Bothwell (Adam Croasdell), one of whom she has a child with.
"Reign" season 4 will premiere on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
