'Resident Evil 7' news, update: More details expected at New York Comic-Con 2016; PS VR launch to feature 'Kitchen' demo

Capcom is expected to reveal more details regarding their upcoming survival horror shooter game "Resident Evil 7" in the coming weeks. The latest installment in the "Resident Evil" franchise is not expected to arrive until January next year, but the hype is getting bigger for the fans who have waited for years to see the franchise return to its horror roots. The good news is that major information will probably be released during the New York Comic Con 2016, as Capcom is one of the confirmed participants of the event.

According to Game Rant , Capcom will be presenting their upcoming game titles and updates at the New York Comic Con event this year, and "Resident Evil 7" is one of the highlights of their presentation. Capcom is also expected to give details for their other new game titles, "Dead Rising 4" and "Street Fighter V."

What makes the New York Comic Con appearance of "Resident Evil 7" is that the fans present at the event will have the chance to experience what the game feels like in virtual reality. As reported by Attack of the Fanbo, the New York Comic Con event will have a special gameplay demo for the attendees, and for "Resident Evil 7," the fans will finally see the game in virtual reality. As reported earlier, "Resident Evil 7" will have VR support, although it will be exclusive for the PlayStation VR headset by Sony for the first twelve months of the game's release.

"Experience a disturbingly realistic PlayStation VR demo that delivers an intense up close and personal look at the game. In the demo, explore the sinister plantation mansion and encounter Marguerite Baker of the disturbed Baker family," Capcom said in a blog post via Attack of the Fanboy. "Resident Evil 7 is the next major entry in the renowned survival horror franchise, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. This demo is making its North American event debut at NYCC."

The said PS VR demo for "Resident Evil 7" is called "Kitchen," and it will give the fans an idea of how to navigate in the game with the VR mode turned on. Capcom has already released other gameplay demonstrations for the game in the past few months, although the PS VR demo will give a more thrilling and horrifying twist.

"Resident Evil 7" will be released on Jan. 14, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platform.
