"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is one of the most anticipated games to arrive next year, and new gameplay footage released by Capcom suggests that Ethan actually survived the Bakers' house.

Previous teasers from the game show Jack being unharmed even after Ethan fired multiple shots. However, the latest clip from Capcom hints that Ethan managed to escape the cannibalistic family's obscure house. It also unveils some parts of the protagonist's escape.

The said promo was reportedly launched in Japan, but there's no word yet on whether it will come out in the West. Despite being made for Japanese consumers, the video features English voiceover with Japanese subtitles.

The survival horror game is easily one of the most-anticipated installments to hit the shelves next year, with new mysteries and scares for players to experience. One of its most notable features is the switch from third-person to a first-person perspective. According to "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" producer Masachika Kawata, the shift is an effort made by Capcom to bring a more immersive experience for all players.

In addition, the major change-up will let players have a more personal experience with the game's characters. Granted that the new feature has its share of downsides (i.e. limited angle for viewing), such changes are generally expected to make the game more frightening and gripping.

"When we decided on the direction of focusing on horror, we thought that having a first-person perspective would be the most effective way to fully immerse the player in the experience," Kawata explained. "By making the player the main character, we believe they'll be able to have a more personal connection to what's going on and experience survival horror like never before," the producer went on to say.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is scheduled to be launched on Jan. 24 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
