Adult Swim recently gave fans their first look at "Rick and Morty" season 3.

The violent and grisly preview was debuted by "Rick and Morty" showrunners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel this weekend. The sequence, which was a very rough rendering for the animated series, was without color but still managed to convey the humor and feel of the adult sci-fi animated sitcom.

In it, Rick, who first appears resembling some kind of insect, is trying to escape a laboratory swarming with rats. He kills a rat and uses its body parts to build himself a new robotic body/suit, which allows him to defeat the rest of the rodents. Things get incredibly violent and over-the-top as he slices and dices his way through the rats until he has killed them all.

Without much color and texture, the sequence is graphic enough. The finished product could then only be downright sickening, bordering on offensive.

In an interview with Collider in June, Harmon spoke about dealing with the censors for the show.

"I don't even look at the S&P (Standards & Practices) notes for 'Rick and Morty' anymore because they get the show and the stuff they have to change is usually relatively cosmetic," he said. "Either we're going to have to bleep a word or you know an example would be: if this creature's gonna get his brain blown out on camera can his brains not be the color of real brains, can they be pink? Well pink is the right color, can they be green or something? Can this creature's diarrhea be purple?"

Meanwhile, Adult Swim also revealed its "Rick and Morty" virtual reality game at Comic-Con. The VR game, which is called "Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality," is being developed for the HTC Vive.

Neither Adult Swim nor Owlchemy Labs have announced the release date for the "Rick and Morty" VR game.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 is currently in production and is expected to be released later this year.
