'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date, spoilers: co-creator quips about show's premiere
Almost halfway through the month of December, a release date for "Rick and Morty" season 3 is yet to be announced despite the expectations that it will premiere before 2017.
It was hinted by "Rick and Morty" writers that it is on track for a December premiere, but many believe that this might not be the case at all.
Show co-creator Justin Roiland recently took to Twitter to quip about all the buzz surrounding the purported delay of "Rick and Morty" season 3.
"Nobody ever asks me when season three is coming. I've never been asked even once. I guess everybody is just patiently waiting?" he tweeted out. It is unclear if Roiland already knows these coveted details though.
At the moment, there is no update on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere date, but many believe that the December target date is not happening anymore.
Last month, a Reddit user who claims to be a design assistant for the show said that "Rick and Morty" is unlikely to return this year.
"I can't say it's 100-percent not going to happen, more like 99-percent," the tipster said of the purported December premiere of "Rick and Morty" season 3.
It is speculated that the new season of the hit Adult Swim animated series will likely be back by March 2017 at the earliest, so there is still a long way ahead.
Back in September, new writers Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener claimed on the "Chicks Who Script" podcast that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will arrive in time for the promised December premiere.
It was also reported that the episodes are complete and that they are lined up for approval before they are given the go signal for airing.
It will not be shocking if "Rick and Morty" season 3 will arrive much later since there will be extra episodes this season. There were new writers brought in though.
For now, it looks like fans will have to wait for the official word from Adult Swim, Roiland or Harmon.
