After seven seasons on TNT, "Rizzoli & Isles" finally bid adieu to its fans. Boston Homicide Detective Jane Rizzoli finally put down her badge while her best friend, chief medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles hung her lab coat. The two are now ready to explore different professions.

Monday nights will never be the same again after the quirky and funny duo of Jane and Maura decided to leave Boston and move on with their lives, hopefully separately. In the finale episode titled "Ocean Frank," Jane (Angie Harmon) decided to accept a teaching position at the FBI Academy, prompting her move to Quantico. Maura (Sasha Alexander), on the other hand, decided to take a year off in Paris as she writes a novel.

There's even a chance that Jane will find love in the person of her new boss at Quantico. However, before they go their separate ways, they decided to go on an all-girls escapade, with Jane deciding to use up her extra vacation days to accompany her best friend to Paris. It's a great way for the series to underscore Jane and Maura's friendship, that wherever their careers take them, they will always be best friends.

Another thing that cropped up in the series finale of "Rizzoli & Isles" was Frankie's (Jordan Bridges) big announcement. He and Nina (Idara Victor) have gotten engaged, and Korsak (Bruce McGill) finally retired from the police force.

Jane was given a farewell party that saw each character from the series saying their goodbyes, but really, showrunner Jan Nash explained that the videos were for the "Rizzoli & Isles" actors bidding adieu to the show and saying their proper goodbyes to their fans. Have fans and viewers seen the last of Jane and Maura?

In an interview with TV Guide after the series finale aired, Nash admitted she would happily consider doing a reboot TV series.

"Of course! If everybody wanted to do that. Honestly, this is such a wonderful group of people, you'd never turn down a chance to work with them again," she said. "So, yeah, if somebody wanted to make a movie or whatever, I would totally be open to it."

In another interview with TV Line, Nash was asked if a "Rizzoli & Isles" movie could happen in the future. Perhaps they could show the best friends enjoying themselves in the romantic city of Paris. To this, Nash replied, "We're ready! Let's go to Paris."

"Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 finale aired on Sept. 5. Meanwhile, keep coming back for more updates about a possible movie or reboot.
