'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' plot news, rumors and updates: Michael Giacchino talks about scoring
With the release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" fast approaching, there is a lot of excitement about what the film will present.
The upcoming film is expected to bring a new kind of environment to the franchise, as it explores a sacred planet called Jedha. Reports stated that the setting is going to play a big role in the development of the story. Jedha is known as a righteous planet for Force users.
It was said that avid Force enthusiasts go there to immerse themselves in the belief of The Force.
One of the notable elements in the upcoming movie is the scoring, which is expected to be done by Michael Giacchino. He is known for his work on the recently released "Doctor Strange" as well as "Star Trek" films. Giacchino joined the project last minute, due to some issues regarding production.
Nevertheless, he was able to share some insight about the film's scoring. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Giacchino stated that he had just finished the music two weeks ago.
He stated that he could not pass off the offer. "Literally the last thing I expected I'd be doing this month would be this. I mean we were literally planning a vacation when I got the call asking if I could come and talk to them about it. At the time, it left me with literally four and a half weeks to write. So it was one of those decisions where you're like, okay, well... And I was talking to my brother about it. He goes, 'Oh, come on. You've been writing this score since you were 10! You can do this,'" he revealed.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" releases in December.
