Mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey will need to take it easy for at least six weeks after her 48-second technical knockout loss from Amanda Nunes just a few days ago.

According to an official statement from The Nevada State Athletic Commission sent to Fox Sports, Rousey will be on suspension until Feb. 14 while a no-contact restriction will be up until Jan. 30. This is to allow her to fully heal from the onslaught that she received from Nunes during their Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 207 bout last week.

Despite the fact that the Dec. 30 main event lasted for only less than a minute, without the two fighters being able to even get into the nitty gritty, Rousey received some hard punches prompting referee Herb Dean to wave off the match. The stoppage is deemed merciful after the officiator came into the decision with Nunes dropping clean lefts and rights on the former champion.

Since the disheartening defeat, Rousey's camp has been silent. Only the fighter's mom, AnnMaria De Mars has boldly come forward and talked candidly about what she thinks of her daughter's latest octagon trip.

"I would like to see her retire," she admitted to the media outlet. "I would have liked to see her retire a long time ago. Who wants to see their kid get hit? Cause she's got a lot of talent in a lot of other things. Movies, writing, producing, she's really, really smart. I told her that at the beginning when she started this."

Unfortunately, De Mars had to sit through the whole ordeal and see UFC 207 unravel before her eyes as she sat on the cage side for the event. Regardless, she says that at this point, all decisions about her next steps still lie with Rousey.

"I think she's an adult and she can make her own decisions. If you get in a fight with somebody or you're angry with somebody, that's not the time to make decisions. I think decisions are best made when you're not really emotional and obviously losing something is a real emotional thing," De Mars added.

UFC 207 was Rousey's much-awaited return to the league after taking a long period of hiatus since losing for the first time against Holly Holm in UFC 193. The event may not have gone her way but with nothing is finalized yet on what she wants to do next. There is still hope that she will step back to compete in the octagon.
